The results for the 2012 Absa Cape Epic lottery were officially released on Thursday, 2 June 2011.

Celebrity riders, sponsored by Absa, have successfully completed the 2011 Absa Cape Epic, which kicked off with a prologue in Tokai Forest last Sunday (27 March 2011) and concluded with stage seven today (3 April 2011) at its traditional Lourensford Wine Estate finish.

After winning the grand finale stage of the Absa Cape Epic Erik Kleinhans en Ariane Lüthi from the Contego/Giant/Sludge mountain bike team cemented their overall second place in the mixed category of this eight day mountain bike stage race.

The final stage of this year’s Absa Cape Epic was short, but not easy. Old Viljoen’s Pass and Nuweberg reminded riders that it was not over yet. Trail builders cut new routes and Dr Evil warned riders of a final few surprises before the traditional finish at Lourensford, where riders were reunited with their loved ones – a life’s task accomplished and an experience they will never forget.

Blind cyclist and motivational speaker, Hein Wagner, and partner Gerrie Olivier, of team Pragma Beyond Vision were welcomed by an overjoyed and emotional crowd at the finish line of stage seven of the 2011 Absa Cape Epic (Sunday 3 April 2011) at the Lourensford Wine Estate.

Celebrity riders, sponsored by Absa, have successfully completed stage six of the 2011 Absa Cape Epic, which took place on Saturday 2 April 2011 in Oak Valley, Grabouw.
