Mountain bike racing rookie, Waylon Woolcock, captured the overall title in the 2011 Nissan Trailseeker Mountain Bike Marathon Series, giving his RE:CM team another boost in its inaugural year. The Series standings were finalised on Monday after the fifth and final leg, which took place at Van Gaalen, near Hartebeespoort Dam at the weekend.

Yolandi du Toit from team bizhub put in another consistent ride on Saturday at the final leg of the Nissan Trailseeker series to claim the overall series win ahead of Samanatha Saanders.

Team bizhub's Yolandi du Toit claimed her second win in the the Nissan series on Saturday when she won the fourth round of the series in Pretoria,the Nissan Trailseeker Diamond Rush.

Judging by her results, it would seem that winning mountain-bike races has become Linda van Wyk’s favourite pastime and, what’s more, she also believes that ‘more is better’.

It is rather evident what the pro-elite mountain biker who wants to win the Nissan TrailSeeker Teak Place race on Saturday (23 July) at the Cradle of Humankind, needs to do. It is actually quite straightforward. All he has to do is chase down Max Knox (Ghost DIN), pass him and then pedal like never before.

The favourite pastime of the 19-year-old Lourens Luus from Sabie is quite obvious. He is addicted to winning mountain-bike races and apparently one victory per weekend is not enough to satisfy his yearning to become one of South Africa’s best mountain bikers.

If Simone and Savannah Vosloo (Ghost-DoItNow) don’t make any mistakes during the Nissan mountain bike half-marathon for junior women in Barberton on Sunday this is what could happen.  Jason Theunissen, manager of Ghost-Doitnow, said jokingly that, like the US tennis sisters, Venus and Serena Williams, South Africa can boast with its own mountain biking sisters, Simone and Savannah Vosloo.
