On Sunday 5 February the Academy riders travelled to Constantia Cape Town for the fourth event in the Western Cape Pro Classic Road Cycling Series, the Roller Coaster. It was a hot summer day and some hard racing was expected.

Former national U/23 champion Clinton Barrow marked his return to big time racing with a comfortable victory in the Mecer-NMMU Cycle Race that took place over 100km in a blustery Port Elizabeth on Sunday.

The final race of the season and Johannesburg’s biggest cycle race with 25, 000 riders ended in 10 man sprint finish to the line. Arran Brown proved his love for the Momentum 94.7 by winning the small group sprint in front of his team mate Reinardt Janse van Rensburg who has been the man on form this last month.

So close, yet so far for Kriek at Amashova Featured

On Sunday at the Amashova Cycle Classic only 400 meters separated Christiaan Kriek (CSA Toyota) from the biggest victory of his short career as a professional cyclist. Nolan Hoffman (Tasol GT) won the Amashova (106km), but it was the break started by Kriek after less than 10km and only caught at 400m to the finish line that had the fingers talking on the social networks.
