So close, yet so far for Kriek at Amashova

On Sunday at the Amashova Cycle Classic only 400 meters separated Christiaan Kriek (CSA Toyota) from the biggest victory of his short career as a professional cyclist. Nolan Hoffman (Tasol GT) won the Amashova (106km), but it was the break started by Kriek after less than 10km and only caught at 400m to the finish line that had the fingers talking on the social networks.

A weekend at the MTN Amashova

Our weekend started differently at the MTN Amashova in Durban. A new format of racing had been decided by the organisers. An evening points criterium at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday night, and then a rest day for some, before the big 'down' ride on Sunday along the route of champions between 'Maritzburg and Durban.
