After two frustrating days at the Tour de Murrieta in California, Christiaan Kriek (Team Simple Green/Bike Religion) won the last stage and finished third overall in this tour over three days.

Christiaan Kriek (Simple Green/Bike Religion) won Saturday’s Snelling road race in the north of California. The previous weekend he finished second in the CBR Criterium.

There is little doubt that Christiaan Kriek has settled quite quickly in America with his second victory in only his third week in the US. Christiaan won the Boulevard Roadrace in his fourth race for the Simple Green/Bike Religion team.

Christiaan Kriek crossed the finish line in first place in only his second race with the Simple Green/Bike Religion team in America. Kriek was victorious in the Santa Barbara race over three laps of 46km each.

On Sunday at the Amashova Cycle Classic only 400 meters separated Christiaan Kriek (CSA Toyota) from the biggest victory of his short career as a professional cyclist. Nolan Hoffman (Tasol GT) won the Amashova (106km), but it was the break started by Kriek after less than 10km and only caught at 400m to the finish line that had the fingers talking on the social networks.

The South African student cycling team - spear headed by Christiaan Kriek - wants to win a medal or two at the Student Games in Shenzhen, China. Approximately 13 000 students from 175 countries will participate in the Game with more than 20 events from 12-23 August.
