Perfect timing is crucial to any cyclist who wants to win the sprint to the line in a road race. One second too soon or one second too late and it is game over.

Five MTN Business clients and managers whom enjoy cycling as a leisure activity, will have the rare opportunity to pair up with five of South Africa’s top professional cyclists including the likes of Daryl Impey from Team MTN Qhubeka, in the MTN Panorama Tour taking place in White River, Mpumalanga from today up to Monday, 2 May.

The Le Coq Sportif Tour de Boland (8 – 11 March) is certainly a race for the climbers, during three days of racing the riders will be expected to conquer Bainskloof Pass twice, Du Toitskloof Pass twice and the Franschoek Pass once.

So near but yet so far!  This is probably the best way to describe the heroic performance by Dennis van Niekerk (MTN/Qhubeka) on the infamous Genting Highland Climb during the fifth stage of Malaysia’s Tour de Langkawi.

Showing that he can still compete strongly at 43 years of age, Libardo Nino Corredor (Le Tua) took over the general classification lead at the Tour de Langkawi today. The veteran Colombian rider placed second on the gruelling stage to Genting Highlands, battling wind and rain to finish just behind the victorious Venezuelan rider Jonnatha Monsalve (Androni Giocattoli).

On a day in Johannesburg when cyclists rule the streets, 24000 people race a lap around the city in the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge. This Sunday I made it to the finish line first! This is my tale of the race…
