The team known among the cycling fraternity as “the Bus” was formed in 2008 by team owner, Owen Lloyd, and quickly grew into where it is today with representation in all the age categories on the track and national champions across the board.

In 2011 Team Intellibus was officially launched as a Top Club Team and initially the idea was to lay the platform for future results. 2011 however was so successful that the vision and aims of the team had to be relooked at and the decision was made that in 2012 the aim of the team would be to build on its success on the track.

The team will be sending a full squad of riders to all National Grand Prix events and other major track races on the Cycling South Africa calendar.

Team owner, Owen Lloyd adds: “When we started the idea was to assist riders to get much
needed exposure and so launch their cycling careers. The team however was very successful in
2011 and so we decided to make a full assault on track racing in South Africa.”

Several requests were received for co-sponsorship agreements for 2012, for which the team were very grateful and a decision was made to align the team with quality co-sponsors for 2012. It is very important for the team that co-sponsors share the same vision and core ethos as the team.

Therefore the co-sponsors for 2012 are:
Wayne Pheiffer Cycles, Cycle Ops, JetBlack, Planet X and High 5 Nutrition.

Also exciting news is that the team will be kitted out by Decca, one of the premier high quality clothing manufacturers in the cycling industry.

The team has partnered with Ample Sports Travel who will look after the team’s travel &
accommodation arrangements for the season.

Team  Intellibus  also  went  into  a  long  term  partnership  with  BikePure,  an  initiative  that promotes drug free cycling. Something that team is proud to be associated with and support.

“We went to great lengths to ensure that the right atmosphere has been created in the team to ensure our riders perform to the best of their abilities. If you look at the co-sponsors for 2012 it is clear that we are now equipped to reach our set goals and even surpass them”, adds Team Manager, Chris Basson.

Boyd Roberts has signed with the team and will participate as an Elite rider for the next two seasons. He brings with him a wealth of experience and will most definitely add value to the team as Team Captain.

The rest of the roster for the 2012 season is as follows:
•    Jeanné Nell (Elite)
•    Réniell Matthysen (Elite)
•    Craig Symons (Elite)
•    Brent Pheiffer (Elite)
•    Hannes Basson (Elite)
