After talking to Elrick Kulsen one becomes aware of how great his love and passion for a bike is and how proud he is of his para-cyclists.

Kulsen, the national para-cycling coach, was just too happy to share information with us on how his athletes did at the National Track Champs.

It was Roxy Burns, silver medallist at the 2010 world champs in the 500tt C4 class who set the records tumbling as she set a new SA record for her 500tt. “It wasn’t my personal best time because I have been training for Australia where we will be racing on the road. I was a bit slow but I am happy I could beat the standard set.”  Burns commented.

Janos Plakker who recently became the national road para-cycling champ was only seconds away from breaking the record in his pursuit for the C4 class.

Jaco Nel, world silver medallist set his pursuit record in the C4 class

Stephan Herholdt put in a stellar performance in his C4 class sprinting events claiming gold in all.

In the C3 class Juan Wilken outshone the rest in the 1kmtt and the pursuit.

Kulsen has taken the para cyclists to Australia to use the road event as a qualifier for the 2012 London para Olympics.
